Shane Hegarty is a children’s writer and journalist. Formerly Arts Editor of The Irish Times, his first children’s series Darkmouth was nominated for the Waterstones Prize and an Irish Book Award. His most recent series Boot was nominated for the Sainsbury’s Children’s Book Awards, An Post Irish Book Awards and was selected as the Dublin UNESCO City of Literature City Wide Read for 2020. His writing has been translated into over 15 languages worldwide. He is also a columnist for The Sunday Times.
