The theme for this year’s WonderFest is creativity and Oliver Jeffers is one of the world’s most exciting creatives working today. As well as producing multi award-winning picturebooks, he is also an established visual artist, working in painting, performance and sculpture.

Oliver says ‘Creativity is born from the mind at play’ and he will talk to Mags Walsh, the Programme Director, Creative Schools at The Arts Council about his wonder-filled new picturebook, There’s a Ghost in This House, his own creative practice and the important of creativity in the lives of children.

Oliver Jeffers

Oliver Jeffers grew up in Belfast and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. A visual artist and author working in painting, bookmaking, illustration, collage, performance, and sculpture, his work is full of humour and wonder. His multi award-winning picturebooks have been translated into over forty-five languages and have sold over twelve million copies worldwide. His artwork has been exhibited at institutions and galleries all over the world from the Brooklyn Museum in New York, to the Palais Auersperg in Vienna. His latest picturebook, There’s a Ghost in This House, has just been published.
