Celebrating Irish Children’s Books | Online School and Family Book Festival. This year we are part of the Dublin Book Festival.

PROGRAMME SCHEDULE

Supported by the Arts Council of Ireland - Literature

12pm | Fowl Adventures – Eoin Colfer in conversation with Patricia Forde

November 19, 2021 12:00 pm
Cost: €20 per class
Until 1:00 pm
3/4/5/6TH

Eoin Colfer is one of Ireland’s best-loved and most popular writers (he’s pretty popular in other countries too!) His Artemis Fowl books are modern classics and he’s also written award-winning picturebooks (Imaginary Fred with Oliver Jeffers), brilliantly funny and touching early readers (The Dog Who Lost His Bark, illustrated by PJ Lynch), graphic novels (Illegal, with Andrew Donkin, illustrated by Giovanni Rigano) and even a crime caper for grown-ups featuring a grumpy dragon (Highfire).

He’s one hard-working writer!

In this exclusive live online event for schools, Eoin will talk to fellow writer Patricia Forde about his school days, his former life as a teacher, the inspiration behind his new series, The Fowl Twins and much more.

There will be plenty of time for questions from his young fans, so get those thinking caps on. Can you be the person to ask Eoin something he’s NEVER been asked before?

A live, interactive event, delivered online.

The Artemis Fowl series has sold over twenty-five million copies, and a Disney+ movie inspired by the books was recently released. Twins Myles and Beckett, Artemis Fowl's younger brothers, return in their third and most outrageous adventure yet. For almost two years, Lord Teddy Bleedham-Drye has been plotting revenge against the Fowl Twins, who humiliated him in book one. Teddy plans to give them exactly what they deserve: permanent death. He threatens Myles with his weaponized jet and Beckett and Specialist Lazuli succeed in disarming the aircraft and causing an accident that kills Lord Teddy. But does it really?

And my favourite #picturebook this year is the amazing #BeWildLittleOne by Irish author @Hopewrites and illuminated by the marvellous art of @DanielEgneus. It's a definite #IrishBooks recommendation for #BookElves2022. A perfect gift for little readers - and not-so-little ones! https://t.co/1zjERJ3FRO
