ONLINE CHILDREN’S BOOK FESTIVAL WITH THREE STRANDS:
WONDERFEST SCHOOLS, WONDERFEST FAMILIES AND NEW FOR 2021 – WONDERFEST INSPIRES
Around 24 events featuring more than 30 speakers
After the success of WonderFest in 2020 we are back! Celebrating Irish children’s books, WonderFest, in association with Pavilion Theatre, Dún Laoghaire is an online book festival taking place 17th to 21st November, boasting around 24 events with over 30 artists – a wealth of Irish talent. Full programme to be announced in October.
All events are LIVE (with some pre-recorded elements) – giving children all over Ireland (and the world!) the chance to interact with favourite writers and illustrators, and in particular to engage with new Irish children’s books published during 2021.
This innovative event was Ireland’s first fully digital children’s book festival, and is run by a crack team of children’s writers and illustrators, hand in hand with Irish publishers and Halfway Up the Stairs children’s bookshop, and with the support of Children’s Books Ireland and dlr Libraries. A true team effort!
WonderFest 2021 will kick off with three days of school events and workshops (up from one last year), plus a fun-filled Saturday for story-loving children aged 0-12 and their families, followed by a brand new masterclass and creativity day on Sunday.
In 2021 we are excited to introduce WONDERFEST INSPIRES, a new strand of masterclasses, talks and webinars for new children’s writers and illustrators, parents, teachers, librarians and all those interested in children’s books and children’s creativity.
We hope you will find an event to inspire you at WonderFest 2021!
Watch out for our programme announcement in October.
